About Harry

A Word from the Owner

Welcome to Fath Properties. We are one of the largest, family owned (single-owner) and operated business with over 7,500 units on 27 properties. We have over 200 associates who are dedicated to making your stay enjoyable. As with most products or services, you have a wide selection of apartments from which to choose. You need to select an apartment that fits your standards and provides the services and amenities you want.

More than fifty years ago, as a young lawyer, I bought a 6-unit apartment building and worked very hard at finding out what my customers wanted and what type of customers I wanted. It became clear that good residents wanted a clean, quiet, and well-maintained place to live. Therefore, in order to give our residents what they wanted we needed rules on cars, balconies, noise and anything that detracts from our good resident’s peaceful enjoyment of their living. Most apartment communities have many of the same rules and regulations. The biggest difference is that we are committed to enforcing them.

One of our unique policies is the Vehicle Condition Agreement that is part of our Rental Criteria and an Addendum to the Lease Agreement. Amazingly it came from our applicants consistently telling us the first thing they looked at were the cars in the parking lot. If the cars were disabled, heavily dented, rusted, unsightly, they assumed the property was poorly operated and their neighbors would be unacceptable. We understand that your automobile is a personal item and as such is your right to drive whatever you want, however from our research, this is something most good customers requested, and we do have the right to provide. If you truly want a clean, quiet, well-maintained place to live and will abide by the rules, I believe we are your best option. If you do not care and do not wish to follow the rules, then you will not be happy living with us. As stated, you have many selections from which to choose, we hope you choose us.

Sincerely,
Harry Fath

Harry Fath Bio

As a young lawyer, Harry Fath bought a six–unit apartment building. Following his entrepreneurial spirit, he continued to buy apartments and eventually gave up law and devoted his time to developing Fath Properties.

He has devoted himself to community service for the last 25 years in addition to his day job. He has been President of the Opera, served on the Board and Executive Committee of CISE, Cincinnati Symphony, Cincinnati Art Museum, Taft Museum of Art and has been a generous contributor to the Cincinnati Zoo, Parks, Arts, CISE, Lighthouse Youth Services and many other community organizations. Most recently Harry and Linda pledged 10 million as the lead giver to a 50-million dollar capital campaign for scholarships to St. Xavier High School. Many years ago Harry initiated the renovation of Music Hall and is a major contributor and committed to that project moving forward. One of the many other things Harry and Linda support is Mercy Ships—a state-of-the-art hospital that serves African residents with no access to medical services.

Harry was awarded the 2012 Humanitarian of the Year with Lighthouse Youth Services, the 2010 Gentlemen of Style & Substance by cincinnatiprofile.com and recognized as the 2001 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year. He and his wife Linda have four children.
